New and bothered....
Dec 19, 2006,06:14 AM
I am new here (to the Chopard forum at least), having just added a MM GMT Chrono to the family. To be perfectly honest, I can't even tell you what 'year' it is: the two serial numbers on the (exhibition) caseback bezel are "899x" and "120165x". It looks in every respect like a 2004 that I see in the forum archive, but it has a silver face, not black. What troubles me most, though, is that the photos I see on the forum have the word 'Tachymeter' (spelled that way) on the inner ring whilst mine has 'Tachometer' : it just seemed improbable to me that the company would alter spelling (and dial printing setup) mid-range.
My watch was new from an AD - do I have a problem, do you have a problem, or am I just being paranoid?
Thoughts appreciated.
Regards,
pplater.

Hi Pplater This is the response for your question (words in bracket are mine) : "Since the word TACHYMETER is not an existing word, we decided to use the official English (I checked the Oxford online-dictionary, indeed the word was not found) translation ...
