Do NOT wear the watch

ChopardMiami,

I'm sorry to hear of your unusual problem.
Do NOT wear the watch during the vacation and especially do NOT get the watch wet, even not hand washing.

The water resistance is now zero even if you pushed the watch glass back on.  By definition, if you can push it back....it can push out again.
Place the watch in a plastic bag or a dry carry pouch to take home.

When you get home, get it serviced at the new Chopard Service centre in the Miami suburb of Coral Gables that opened in 2013. It takes up the whole 9th floor of the building and has 9000 square feet of workshop and 2000 square feet of office/reception space. They can service most of Chopard watches in the USA with quick turnaround and not returning the watch to Geneva.

It is unusual for the glass to "fall out" unless the seals have perished. Usually the seals and water resistance need to be checked every year even if no mechanical service is required. Nine years is a long time without checking the seals in hot humid climates or strong sunshine UV light or exposure to sea water.

Let us know how you get on as that is one of the best editions of Mille Miglia since the public could buy them in 1997.

Regards,
MTF

Not a common problem

While water resistance can get compromised due to the seal getting degraded over time, I don't think that glass should be falling off simply because the watch is over 9 years without service. By that logic most of the Pateks with collectors that have kept...
