.. hence, I guess, what happens ( in part at least), that several factors contribute here:
- the lens-system is improved,
- the chip-size/ cmos for the pic is larger, therefore more pixels, and finer resolution
- the D-lux 6 ( which by coincidence I also own) has a greater ability in the low-light &
and residual light range, therefore the imgs have this "crisp/ almost metallic" style,
but mostly with higher res
- i would expect, that to achieve a true " mimicry" of the known " soft& warm" tone,
one might have to " downgrade some settings.. - How ? - I don't know .
On a very humble personal level, I have started to make pics a lot with the P (Program)
automatic, and often use the macro mode; but I am far back behind Nico, in
experimenting in settings. - I have not used the full manual mode, so I'm not qualified
to have an opinion thereabout..
But you are right, these pics are different, but maybe - like in life ? - we are not always
ready for the "true" reality and repercussions..
Apologies for these somewhat lengthy dwellings
- just my little 0,02 cents
Best, hs
