unexpected last day delights

On my final day of a week of watch fun in Switzerland I didn’t think I was going to see much in Biel/Bienne.  How wrong I was

First, I noticed in maps the shop of Nathalie Jean-Louis with the word “Anglage” so I trodded up to old town and found a sweet little shop of a wonderful woman practicing (and teaching) Anglage

She was gracious, delightful and tolerated every question I had about the practice of anglage.  If you’re in town seek her out

She then walked me across the street to meet Shona Taine, an absolutely delightful young independent who is still working on her first model. She too was extremely generous and it was thrilling to see the twinkle in her eyes as we talked about her watch, the challenges of starting as an independent, how she comes up with design ideas, what was special about her watch, etc

(with apologies for not capturing it better - tourbillon with a unique approach to moon and date)

What a joy!
