The perfect 'dress' chronograph?

Beautiful photo. I suspect you will bring us more and I hope you have seen the PuristS limited edition along side this RG version.

I was thinking about the appearance of the movement and it strikes me as perfectly congruent with the rest of the watch. I wondered, when we knew there was a manual wind chronograph coming from Chopard, if it would be a 'Datograph killer'. And I think it is, but not in the way I expected. The Datograph is all about cold engineering and functionality. It has it's own mechanical beauty of course, but this new Chopard Cal. 03.07-L is beautiful as a vintage inspired Swiss 'dress' chronograph should be. Those contrasting gold and silver colours, all the complex corners, curves and points that are hand angled and polished, but also not forgetting the mechanical prowess with the vertical clutch, flyback and zero hacking seconds. It's a special movement that I want to see more of. Not many chronograph movements outside the Datograph, the Minerva movements for Montblanc and the Lang and Heyne chronographs make me ache to get in close with a loupe or want to see macro photographs of all the little details.

Can't wait to see more.

Thanks, FX.

Andrew
