Nice suggestions...

...but currently not quite in the tourbillon purchase range - still we all need to start somewhere. smile

The LUC 1963 PuristS Chrono was something I would potentially be able to stretch to (and that would be a stretch) - before the current exchange rate adjustment, which just added effectively 20% on top for us from the Eurozone. A beautiful watch by all means, one that also my wife completely approves off (without knowing the price). So more something for the future, although something tells me the PuristS members are less than likely to part with theirs, so hope I will be luckier with a future re-edition.

For the next one I was thinking more along the lines of the LUC 1937, or potentially a NOS LUC Tech Twist Chronometer I found - which really speaks to me as a slightly left field choice (the version I like best - also posted here repeatedly - is the Spanish limited one, for which I am several years too late I guess).

The 1.98 is definitely on the cards in principle but would prefer a version without the date (with just a small second at the 6 o'clock position). Still, I like the post 2011 look better than the older one overall, so who knows.

Another one - if the year turns out better than anticipated - that truly speaks to me is the LUC 8HF; saw one offered online and it came on my must have list immediately after having found out more about it here (I gathered from the posts here that the original 100 pieces have all been sold but it seems some are now available on the secondary market).

The XP Tonneau in white gold may be another addition in the years to come, too.

Another watch from the LUC range that will be easy to both stretch to and explain at home is a pre-loved Sport2000, of which there are many available. I feel the LUC on the seconds hand is a great touch and as a sporty watch for the weekend it pushes many of the right buttons.

But as said, one has to start somewhere and there are (hopefully) many years of collecting ahead of me; and with children one can at least theoretically construct an excuse that one is only providing heirlooms for the next generation wink

Any comments on the 'wish list' are of course highly appreciated.

LUC Chrono One after 8 months

 By: KMII : January 20th, 2015-01:36
As I have gotten sterling advice in my selection process for a chronograph here some eight months ago, I felt it the least I can do in return to write up some short impressions on my stainless steel Chrono One after having had some opportunity to wear it....

One answer and a proposal

KMII Thank you so much for the 'user review'. As you mentioned yourself, the Chopard connoisseur is a stealthy animal and do not post online as fervently as his/her Rolex brethren :-) Even compensating for the vast disparity in numbers (Rolex 700,000 piec...

Your next Chopard purchase....ideas

KMII Thinking about your plan for an annual Chopard watch purchase cycle, may I make some suggestions and compare with your current shortlist. I am not making any assumptions about the budget that Mrs KMII will allow ;) but in your country, the average wa...

And finally some pictures

Admittedly not perfect, as quickly snapped with the camera phone but a first try. The artistic composition so often seen in these pages will have to wait for a more suitable place, time and props :) On its own With its owner ...

It is a beautiful and understated chronograph.

Not even Daytona can match. For issue on long wait on your strap, I had waited 1 year for my Lange strap. Enjoy the watch Regards Ling

And another one

Just to demonstrate that in spite of the poor lume, the legibility is great as long as there is some ambient light. ...

Thanks for the review and the pictures.

Glad to know you are enjoying the Chrono One. Even happier to know it is your daily wearer. From your response to MTF, it is clear that you know your L.U.Cs! I hope you will post a little more frequently if you have time. Best, CaliforniaJed

Good to hear from your experience. There are not many messages of the chrono one. I have mine already 5 years and have no regret. It is my second one. The first one had multiple issues in the begin and this was professionaly resolved with exchanging the w...
