Live Pics of Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique 2014 - 5N ROSE GOLD Editions
May 15, 2014,09:51 AM
After sponsoring the Grand Prix de
Monaco Historique for six editions since year 2002, this year's 7th
Edition of 'classic race', Chopard does something differently. Instead
of issuing one Chronograph version, 2014 will see Chopard launches three
versions - a Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Automatic, a Power
Control and a Chronograph.
That's not all. There is a 5N Rose
Gold variations of the three versions! The construction is similar to the Titanium/Steel versions ( click here
to access the post). Case diameter is 44.50mm with middle Titanium
caseband, flanked by a 5N Rose Gold bezel with aluminium insert and a
solid caseback engraved with the logo of the Automobile Club de Monaco.
The dial is silver colour with white outer rehaut ring instead of
yellow. The hour and minute hands are gold plated to match the gold
crown and chronograph-pushers. The movements are the same as the
Titanium/Steel versions with the COSC certified Valgrange workhorses. The
Rose gold versions are attractive and it should appeal people who like an added touch of luxury. These gold versions are not
limited editions.
Some photographs of the prototypes for your viewing and comparison ... see which you prefer afterwards.
Grand Prix de Monaco Historique - Automatic Version or the V6 ( Ti/ Steel/ 5N Rose Gold)
Similar
construction as the Ti/Steel version. The bezel, hands and screw-down
crown are of the gold theme. Central second-hand instead of single
yellow colour, it is black with white tip!
SuperLuminova applied on the hour-indexes, oversize '6' & '12" and also on both the hour and minute hands.
Titanium caseband is matt brush-finished contrasting with the Rose gold bezel circumference and crown.
Fine details on the dial ... grooved centre area, separate rehaut rings with precise hour-indexes cut out.
Screw down 5N gold crown, flanked by the raised Titanium protector.
Solid
steel caseback engraved with the logo of the Automobile Club de Monaco
and secured to the caseband with allen-key fasteners.
Titanium/steel deployant buckle with black Barenia calfskin strap.
The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Power Control or the V8 ( Ti/ Steel/ 5N Rose Gold) Gold-plated hand for the power reserve indicator.
Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph or the V12 ( Ti/ Steel/ 5N Rose Gold) Same
diameter, but because of the outermost rehaut ring is white... give an
illusion it is slightly bigger than the Ti/Steel version.
This
close up of the 5N gold crown and pushers, give another fine detail
away ... Note the sides of the crown-protectors, the front-facing side
is gloss-polished while the side is brush-finished.
Even
the chronograph pushers are of two textures - glossy on the outside
while the inner areas of the cavities are microblasted matt.
Similarly, with solid steel caseback with the emblem of the Automobile Club de Monaco.
After seeing these 5N Rose Gold Collections, what are your thoughts, comparing to the Ti/Steel Collections? Kong
