Officially, I have to say that all Chopard watches are the best they can make for the market positioning.
That's not just the political broadcast but we (the current Mrs MTF and me) believe it. She has two rules for collecting watches and broke both of them for a Chopard...
1) Only mechanical movements.
2) No diamonds in or on watches.
Having said that, the LUC movements are the top of the range Chopard movements currently.......
Until recently, the other Chopard watches had (ETA, Valjoux, F.Piguet, Lemania) or other 3rd party movements but with the new Ebauches Fleuriers, Chopard now make in-house mid- to-high range movements that are making appearances more into the regular Chopard watches.
My point is that if you are getting one Chopard watch, as a PuristS, get a LUC. As there is one special model by PuristS for PuristS available, get the LUC 1963 Chrono PuristS Edition. Mr KFS is a PuristS member and in spirit too.
It is the only steel model with a new LUC movement at launch. They only produce LUC watches in precious metal today and certainly never launch a new movement in steel case.

MTF
