Chopard at Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2014

For the 2014 edition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the original watch entries have been shortlisted, or as they call it - "pre-selected" for Public Voting and Jury JudgingCHOPARD has four watches pre-selected for the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2014.

I show them here with some background information.

Chronograph: Chopard L.U.C. 1963 Chronograph.

The L.U.C 1963 is named after the year the Scheufele family acquired Chopard and to commemorate the 50th anniversary by paying tribute to tradition and haute horlogerie. The L.U.C. 1963 Collection includes the first L.U.C handwound chronograph.

"Petite Aiguille" Prize: Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono.

Chopard has supported this race with watches for every edition of the Grand Prix Historique since 2002 (so far all are chronographs, tied in as the official timekeeper) which will be handed over to the victorious drivers of the different vehicle categories. Four concepts are adopted to closely bind both automobile sport and mechanical watch-making - Passion and emotion, rigorous standards and precision.

Ladies' High-Mech: Chopard - Happy Sport Tourbillon Joaillerie.

Chopard Happy Sport Collection enters the haute horlogerie world with the Happy Sport Tourbillon Joaillerie equipped with a L.U.C movement - Calibre L.U.C 02.16-L.

Jewellery Watches: Chopard - The Green Carpet Collection Watch.

Chopard offers a Green Carpet Collection using Fairmined gold and conflict-free diamonds. Supported by Livia Firth, Eco-Age founder and wife to Academy Award actor Colin, the line strengthens Chopard’s commitment to sustainable luxury.

The Alliance for Responsible Mining is also an important partner, as their focus is not only helping small scale miners, encouraging fair trade, but also to help assist environmental issues caused by large scale gold mining.

All four short-listed CHOPARD watches are worthy winners in their categories but the one that I voted for on-line is the rose gold Chopard L.U.C. 1963 Chronograph as it is a sibling of our PuristS Edition in steel.

You need to go to the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève website to register before you can click the VOTE button.  It's a bother because they collect your e-mail address but I hope you only need to do it once.

You can't vote for THIS watch but you can order one by subscription!    smile
