Chopard WOW #8

Aug 27, 2014,21:43 PM

For the 8th Watch of the Week, we must of course choose the L.U.C Quattro, in this case, the first version, this example in pink gold with black dial. We're going back to 2003 for this one, and, breaking with tradition, I am not going to reveal the watch's owner.  Instead, I will let you guess!  Here's a clue: Perhaps you will recognize him/her in prose. About this watch, the owner wrote, in his/her first post about this beauty:

"Take in the twin orbs of her superimposed barrels (quattro mainsprings) - this one would keep going long after most others have come shuddering to a halt.

She flicked her balance too quickly (4Hz) for me to see the Breguet overcoil but I consoled myself with admiring the perfectly formed and regal arch of the swan-neck below me.

In the light, the plates' edges were honed and strangely black as if disappearing into infinity while I gazed at her delicate stripes.

My joy is tinged with but one small regret - it would be 8 days before I could touch her again..........."

Who knew we had such a lofty, literary WIS in our forum? Who could it be? smile

Best,

CaliforniaJed

It is one of the finest, exquisitely made watches I have ever owned. I sold it during a reckless rampage of catch and release. Only in memory can I fully appreciate what I had. It is up there with the watch industry's best of the best, IMHO. Great to see ...

Reckless rampage of catch and release......Surely that

is one of the saddest phrases ever seen on PuristSPro ! :-( Mostel: I feel for you. I think you need some Zen meditation to salve your hurt...... Regards, MTF ...

Wow, Mostel, that's some high praise.

I had an opportunity to buy one in white gold with a blue dial that was stunning. I recall being particularly in love with the way it wound. At the time. I had to make a choice between it and the 16/1860, and I went with the latter. One day I hope to have...

beautiful!

CJ, another beautiful WOW Chopard! :) I had the chance to try the current version of the PG Quattro. The finish on the movement is to die for! Best Blomman ...

Agree, blomman. It is definitely on my radar!
