The 2014 Happy Sport Tourbillon Joaillerie

Aug 19, 2014,22:19 PM

Last year, Chopard celebrated the Happy Sport 20th anniversary adding the first mechanical movement to the collection with an automatic movement.  This year, 2014, the Happy Sport Collection enters the haute horlogerie world with the Happy Sport Tourbillon Joaillerie with an L.U.C movement, Calibre L.U.C 02.16-L.

The Happy Sport Tourbillon Joaillerie, a Boutique exclusive, is 42mm diameter (Thickness is 15.09mm), 18K white gold case, fully set with Chopard high grade diamonds.  Case is water-resistant rated to 30m.

The whole 18K WG case is pave-set with brillant-cut diamonds while the bezel is with baguette-cut.
Dancing above the dial and the tourbillon cage are 7 mobile diamonds.

The gold dial is with random pave set diamonds  with the raised gold hour-indexes.  Both the 'glaive' style hour and minute hands are blued.

The tourbillon cage turns one full round in a minute, acting as the small second.  The tourbillon bridge is also diamond studded.

Side profile shaped like a wing.  The 7.30mm diameter 18K gold crown is also set with a diamond.  This crown could be fitted with the Winding Assistance System (WAS), a crank, which should help to derive the joy and pleasure winding the 9-day L.U.C calibre.

This WAS crank is from the L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Twist.  The aesthetic design for Happy Sport Tourbillon Joaillerie may be different.  For more information of the WAS, please click here.

The watch is matched white alligator strap and a 18K white gold pin buckle.

Sapphire caseback displaying the Geneva Seal and COSC certified L.U.C Quattro 4Hz, 216-hour-power-reserve calibre, L.U.C 02.16-L.  Bridges are decorated with straight grain  "Côtes de Genève" pattern.

Do not let Mrs. CaliforniaJed see this thread! ;-) This is a jaw-dropping example of jewelry meets haute horology. I am stunned - virtually speechless. The diamonds are gorgeous, as is the gem setting. And to see that L.U.C movement inside -- well it is i...
