Chopard WOW #5

Aug 06, 2014,16:35 PM

For the Watch of the Week, I've chosen one from a Purist with undeniable passion for Chopard -- AlexSunrise, and his Chopard L.U.C Classic Mark III in Stainless Steel.

His is gorgeous with its clean, slate grey dial, the sharp dauphine hands, and of course the chronometer Caliber 3.96 beating inside.

Kong document the arrival of the Mark III at the Singapore boutique all the way back in 2007 in this post:

It is still a winner today! Hope you are still enjoying it, Alex!

Best,

I haven't been wearing it as much as I should, but that is surely about to change ;-). Please allow me to share a couple of pictures I had lying around the hard drive. Always a pleasure to wear, but most importantly to share with all my friends and fellow...

This one is my favorite image, Alex.

Everything about this watch, from the stainless case, to the slate-grey dial, says "cool". This shot against the foliage magnifies that! Nice job. Good to hear from you. Come back and post again soon! Best, CaliforniaJed ...

The 6th hour position for date display

The 6th hour position for date display does appear to be most "balanced" design decision. It does eat into the sub-seconds counter at the same position. More balanced may have been: 1) Sub-seconds at position 8 and date at position 4. 2) Central full-swee...

Absolutely! [nt]

I agree! The dial has a sculpted feel, not cut out and

the depth of the seconds dial is a real carving in the work. I feel the shape of the bezel is also perfectly integrated into the "sculpture" of the watch. Bravo and keep them coming! I would also prefer no date. Best to all, Tim

Tim, yes, the dial itself, and the bezel, are exquisite.

Your dislike of the date is certainly not uncommon. I must admit that I have come to like the placement near 6:00 very much, and I find the date complication extremely useful. Hope all is well with you! Best, CaliforniaJed
