Rado Square collaborations and B&R X Alain Silberstein

Jan 15, 2023,15:44 PM

I read somewhere in the comments about ceramic watches. Sorry by the time I logged it, it got lost in the thread somewhere.
Check out these two watches. The Raod wears light, and some have way, interesting designs. The B&R collaboration is wonderful because it’s being the AS colour palette onto the the flight instrument panel (as a canvass), that is the iconic wrist watch even in its own! What a great marriage of the 2!
Go check them out.
Also check out other recent collaborations. It’s an interesting time for us collectors who are inspired by human design, artistic pursuits which are less technical in nature.

Looking for some insight

Hi guys, I come to you for some help with my next purchase, as I've been going through many options and can't seem to find the watch that I would like to buy. This is why I am posting this: to get some suggestions. Here are the general requirements: a 34-...

Are dead seconds of interest?

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 19th, 2022-23:03
Not an alternative time display but an interesting variation. I believe 36mm as well as the more standard 38.5mm available for the dead seconds. Model is Erwin or The Little Habring for 36mm options. Am thinking of some others and I’m sure you have sugges...

Thank you for your help

Dead seconds can be interesting, but I am looking for something a little more quirky from a visual standpoint.

Trilobe? I believe there are some owners here.

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 19th, 2022-23:11
Don’t know case sizes however.

Or Vincent Calabrese ??

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 19th, 2022-23:16

Interesting suggestion

 By: andrea~ : December 19th, 2022-23:18
Not really my style though

Or the 2nd MIH watch maybe.

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 19th, 2022-23:19
Again, owners here. Maybe too big however, it’s 39mm but the lugs would seem to make it wear larger.

Trilobe is cool

 By: andrea~ : December 19th, 2022-23:18
I'll check to see if they have something in a smaller size

Follow up on Trilobe...

 By: andrea~ : December 19th, 2022-23:23
I found this: Trilobe Nuit Fantastique Secret a 38.5mm watch with a scrolling minutes display, titanium case and dial customisable with the night sky of a day you can choose awesome combination

Azimuth watches? Or Ressence Type 8 perhaps?

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 20th, 2022-14:52
Too big for you I think but Konstantin Chaykin would definitely fit the gimmick requirement. The lugs are short so the watch wears a little smaller than the diameter would suggest. This is the Clown, I had it for several years and I do wear it every so of...

The ressence type 8 is a strong contender

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-15:28
Azimuth lacks the smaller dimensions and the style doesn't appeal to me too much, same for Chaykin

Not a bad idea!

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-07:06

Great choice 👌🏻

Enter text ...

I kinda like "gimmick".

 By: Gregineugene : December 20th, 2022-05:05
Most people say "complication" but "gimmick" is a fun variation on that !

Haha yes, I used gimmick because I don't want a "complicated" watch

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-07:09
I just want a complicated way of telling the time on it 😁

Some basic inputs missing

 By: MilDiver : December 20th, 2022-05:51
Do you need it to be WR? Do you need bracalet? And I would highly recommend avoiding ceramic or carbon , stick with real metal...

WR and bracelet are not too important

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-07:12
I love ceramic cases though, I actually think more watches should be made of cool materials... I'm rather careful with my watches anyway

This one?

Platinum case, enamel dial, jumping hour. ...

Absolutely stunning

Thanks!

Bravo!

 By: amanico : December 20th, 2022-18:57

This one is the ref 3420 Pt.

 By: amanico : December 20th, 2022-18:57

I checked and unfortunately it's over my budget

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-21:02
Still a beautiful piece to consider in the future

Too bad!

 By: amanico : December 20th, 2022-21:16

Vacheron Saltarello or Jump hour?

 By: Jp75 : December 20th, 2022-10:01
Great house, great movement (1120 based), perfect size, with the necessary quirk - and one of not many? Cheers, Jérôme

Amazing watch

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-11:24
I fear it's a little over my budget though

Vincent Calabrese jump hour or wandering jump hour

 By: LK : December 20th, 2022-13:55
Some new and used models would fit budget and size,

Thanks for the suggestion

 By: andrea~ : December 20th, 2022-14:29
The only problem I have is that the Vincent Calabrese aesthetic doesn't appeal to ne

Andersen Geneve "Orbita Lunae"

Unusual complication: wandering moon. Unusual material: blue gold. Size and price fits ... if you can find one for sale.

That's a real beauty

Thanks for the suggestion!

I don’t know if you will think this is good advice….

 By: NickO : January 15th, 2023-20:25
But if you’re able to add to your watch budget every year, you always have the option of delayed gratification. That is, do not buy another watch now but continue to save until you can pull the trigger on the outstanding Star Wheel. It is a very worthy gr...

Couldn't have said it better . . .

. . . myself. Agreed in full. Art

Thank you for the advice!

 By: andrea~ : January 15th, 2023-23:21
I am actually going to do exactly that. I've realized that the watch I want is the Star Wheel and nothing else will do so, instead of wasting money on an alternative, I'll just wait for the right time and get the real deal
