1860

Chopard have confirmed to me, while they were in possession of my 1860, that they did indeed mark the very early yellow gold hunter-back as simply "1860", and later changed the marking to "16/1860/1" .   They will not say how many were marked 1860 but it appears limited to the first 25 or 30 of the yellow gold.   Mine is marked 1860.   Can other owners of the 1860 hunter-back confirm how their watches are marked?   The location of the marking is on the case back, with hunter back open, at the 12:00 location.

Sorry no picture to post yet, I just acquired an 1860/1 watch in yellow gold, white face. It appears to be limited to 100 units. It has 43 bees in the hinged caseback. It is a gorgeous watch. I have researched the threads on this site for the 1860, but is...

Hi Robert Thank you for the new purchase. I've not seen but read about this gorgeous piece. This range or configuration has 100 pieces. I will leave the rest of your questions to our friends who own this piece. I'm surprised to hear that your watch hacks....

Greetings, The watch you purchased is an earlier version of the classic 16/1860/2 or more commonly known as the LUC caliber 1.96. There is no mechanical difference between the hinged back version of 100 or the less limited general series 1.96. Much has be...

Sorry, I hit the wrong button before loading the pictures. There was a yellow gold 1.96 with hinged back for sale for a long time on that famous auction site. Regards, MSB This message has been edited by Kong on 2007-09-23 03:09:01 This message has been e...

I noticed from the picture you posted some differences between that watch and mine. When the gold case back is opened to show the see through caseback, on the perimeter of the gold case that encircles the see thru crystal, at top, the pictured watch seems...

Hi Robert, can you post us a couple of pictures of the caseback?

Sorry, my digital camera cannot take a clear picture and I do not have the necessary lens setup. But the question is simple. Did Chopard make the half hunter back 1860 in two forms, one marked on the case back with "1860" and one marked "16/1860/1"? I ask...

Sorry for the late reply...

Hi Robert Recently we have 8/100 for the 1860/1 and the pictures were in this thread: chopard.watchprosite.com However, the Part number is clearly engraved as 16/1860/1. Chopard is not able to provide any information and also asked for a photo for verific...
