Can't wait to see this piece in person. The movement finishing will certainly be top notch! I still want to see the 1963 Chronometer. amp;fi=112&pi=6189048&ti=903433&s=&t=www-luc-1963-the-quintessential-chronometer That's my favorite Chopa...

Can't wait to see the movement, but the dial looks very nice.

It may well be a new member of the Fine Chronographs Family, an exclusive family, counting only a few, very few members. The hands are superb. As I am very picky, I would love to see mushroom pushers, and two subdials only. But I am veeeery picky. And bor...

Comments regarding finishing and size

Actually I think the two-tone appearance with the gilded base plates and the German silver bridges, as well as the polished flat steel levers looks fantastic. It gives it depth and sets off the functional aspects of the movement. More critical to me than ...

Thanks for these informations, Andrew.

The size of the movement is important to compare with the size of the case. Patek, for example, opted for some clever tricks to house the small movement in such a big case. More often, a small movement can find its place in a 38 / 40n mm case without givi...

Clever tricks?

I agree with your comments on the movement versus case size. The 'clever trick' from Chopard, I believe, is the sloping 'arena' case back. It's as if our eyes are brought into the movement. I prefer this to a 'small' sapphire window and a large bezel givi...

Yes, Chopard too, opted for a clever solution with the way they surrounded the movement.

Here is a case back comparison shot between the VC Les Historiques and the Patek 5070. A difference of 5 milimmeters between the 2 cases. It is noticeable, but is it that much noticeable? That is why I mentionned the " Patek Trick " in te way they designe...

A great example ...

Thanks for showing these classic chronographs side by side. But I personally prefer the Chopard design solution. Regards Andrew Ps. huge congratulations on your 80,000 post. I'm sure there will be much excitement around the forums, but I saw it first! Tha...
