I get confused between USA, UK, Asian definitions
Apr 18, 2015,23:23 PM
FrX,
Thanks for the update.
That was the raison d'etre of the event last week - the relaunch of the Paris boutique after refurbishment.
After living in USA, UK and Asia, I get confused about the definition of "1st floor". Some countries have "ground floor" so that is '1F' on the elevator button. Others call the floor above Ground floor the 1st floor. Some use the number '0' for Ground floor or 'G'. The street level may be 'C' for Concourse or 'L' for Lobby or even 'R' for reception unless it means 'Roof'. Basements start with '-1' and become more negative with successive depth.
When they start using "mezzanine" floor on the lift button, all bets are off!
As I have been to the Paris boutique before refurbishment, I think you showed the floor above ground level.
Obviously, the lighting used simulates the light that gemstones look best in, as that is now the 'jewellery' floor.
Do they use the same lighting on the 'watch' floor?
Regards,
MTF
