The 6th hour position for date display
The 6th hour position for date display does appear to be most "balanced" design decision. It does eat into the sub-seconds counter at the same position.
More balanced may have been:
1) Sub-seconds at position 8 and date at position 4.
2) Central full-sweep seconds hand and date at position 6.
3) No date.
The first option loses the elegance by making a triangle on the dial with the big 12 marker.
The last two options lose either the sub-seconds or date display motifs.

I agree! The dial has a sculpted feel, not cut out and
the depth of the seconds dial is a real carving in the work. I feel the shape of the bezel is also perfectly integrated into the "sculpture" of the watch. Bravo and keep them coming! I would also prefer no date. Best to all, Tim
Tim, yes, the dial itself, and the bezel, are exquisite.
Your dislike of the date is certainly not uncommon. I must admit that I have come to like the placement near 6:00 very much, and I find the date complication extremely useful. Hope all is well with you! Best, CaliforniaJed
