 By: MTF : March 5th, 2015-21:36
CHOPARD Superfast Watches - a Retrospective and Prospective Look Chopard has long been associated with vintage automotive sports like the Mille Miglia Race since 1988 and the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique since 2002. For both those events, there are ser...

Very interesting overview and speculation, thank you. I look forward to a 24 hr in house chronograph.

I just might have to start a specific collection of MM and Superfast models... TM

In house 24-hr chronograph makes sense

New perspectives

First of all, this is indeed a very much appreciated report. Not only for today, but for many many years into the future looking back and see how the Superfast story develops. Such report would have certainly increased the pace of my decision making proce...

Kolosstt, I agree that the split second chronograph would be a great development.

I don't know whether that is a priority for Chopard, though. At least not yet. I would love to see them expand their use of the Fleurier Ebauches movements across the classic racing line, which appears to be the direction they are headed. (I'm holding out...

You've added more ideas

 By: MTF : March 7th, 2015-12:35
kolosst Thank you for the additional ideas. Chopard will be forced by ETA to only use Chopard mechanical movements in future. Thus, even the Mille Miglia will have Chopard movements eventually. The split seconds function is rather niched so maybe 3rd part...

FE is going to replace ETA...

... no doubt about it. What I meant about Mille Miglia; yes, it will see FE pretty soon. However, do you think it will happen in the same see-through movement design like used in the Superfast line? And also agree with both that there are other priorities...

Its not a Rule but Guidance about see-through caseback

 By: MTF : March 8th, 2015-01:14
At Chopard, its not a Rule but usual practice to have a display caseback for watches with in-house movement. Its an appreciation-thing for both maker and watch owner. Thus, I suspect that non-diving Chopard watches, even Mille Miglia, will have see-throug...

Saphire case back is always a highlight

 By: kolosstt : March 8th, 2015-04:11
Sometimes, I really do not understand why you would buy an excellently finished movement, if you can't admire it easily. I still own my first automatic watch, which is a Victorinox with some ETA movement. Yet, when I saw its movement through the backside ...

New Mille Miglia GTS movement

Here it is; the new movement inside CHOPARD Mille Miglia GTS watches. In this case, the Power Control model.... Regards, MTF ...

that the Superfast line tempts me more than any other, at present. The Superfast Chrono in particular is an attractive watch, even more so with the Chopard calibre 03.05-M inside. I particularly like the 919 edition! Not sure I would be comfortable wearin...

I like the original Superfast Chrono Split Seconds

 By: MTF : March 7th, 2015-12:43
....Not for the split seconds function that is incidental but for the other racing motifs like the Allen head bolts, black DLC finish, white font on black dial and red hands...vroom vroom! I'm not so keen on the Dunlop tyre tread strap so the new slick ty...

Eye catching black

 By: kolosstt : March 8th, 2015-00:09
If pulling the silver off, I would wish for something black. I remember Chopard as having made more titanium than ceramic cases, but both would be my preferred materials for such an appearance. Or why not some mix like in the latest Tech 8Hz? Starting to ...
